У Caritas School дбають не тільки про навчання учнів, але і працюють над розвитком навичок, зокрема, екологічних. Наприклад, велику увагу ми приділяємо формуванню корисних екологічних звичок, здатних змінити екологічний слід. У зв’язку з цим лютий оголошуємо місяцем екологічного виховання! Першим заходом еко-місяця стала участь вихованців у науково-освітньому заході до Всесвітнього дня водно-болотних угідь, який пройшов у Краєзнавчому музеї імені Тиводара Легоцького. Старший науковий співробітник сектору природи Руслана Джахман розповіла дітям про значення водно-болотних угідь для людства. На жаль, у минулому багато боліт на території Закарпаття було осушено і зараз вчені працюють над тим, щоб відновити ці екосистеми. Як відновлювали болото «Чорне багно» учні дізналися після перегляду відеосюжету, який надав для показу Інститут еколого-релігійних студій. Опісля перегляду та обговорення документальної стрічки учні мали змогу переглянути експозицію «Природа Закарпаття», де дізналися багато цікавої інформації про жителів водойм та про важливість водно-болотних угідь нашого краю для відпочинку мігруючих птахів. Надзвичайно цікавими виявилися інтерактивні завдання - розгадування кросворду та гра «Правда-неправда». Підсумували роботу загальними міркуваннями, що болото – це не бруд із яким воно найбільше асоціюється, а цінна екосистема. Водно-болотні угіддя регулюють клімат, дають нам їжу, поглинають вуглець, тому є дуже важливими для життєдіяльності людини. Спасибі науковим співробітникам сектору природи Краєзнавчого музею імені Тиводара Легоцького Ужгородського замку Руслані Джахман та Михайлу Біланичу за співпрацю та важливу роботу зі збереження природи.ʼ

Eco Month at Caritas School: The Importance of Wetlands for Nature Conservation

At Caritas School, we care not only about students' education but also work on developing various skills, particularly environmental ones. For example, we pay close attention to fostering beneficial ecological habits that can reduce our environmental footprint.

In this regard, we announce February as the month of environmental education! The first event of Eco Month was the students' participation in a scientific-educational event dedicated to World Wetlands Day, which took place at the Tyvodar Lehocky Local History Museum.

Senior Researcher of the Nature Sector, Ruslana Dzhakhman, explained to the children the importance of wetlands for humanity. Unfortunately, many wetlands in Transcarpathia were drained in the past, and now scientists are working to restore these ecosystems. The students learned about the restoration of the "Black Bog" after watching a video provided by the Institute of Ecological-Religious Studies.

After the screening and discussion of the documentary, the students had the opportunity to explore the "Nature of Transcarpathia" exhibition, where they learned interesting facts about the inhabitants of water bodies and the importance of wetlands for migrating birds.

The interactive tasks, such as solving a crossword and playing "True or False," turned out to be extremely engaging.

The event concluded with general reflections, where the students realized that a swamp is not just the dirty place it is often associated with, but a valuable ecosystem. Wetlands regulate the climate, provide food, and absorb carbon, making them crucial for human life.
